Letter from the Chairman

2016 for the Children’s Environmental Health Center was filled with a whirlwind of activity and 2017 promises more of the same!

As the new Board Chair, I am truly excited to work with Vice-Chair, Anne Robertson and the CEHC staff to do whatever we can to support the Center and its ground breaking work.  I would like to acknowledge the tireless efforts of our past Chair, Alex Bergstein.  I know that the CEHC would not be where it is today without leaders like Alex and others who worked closely with Dr. Phil Landrigan and Dr. Robert Wright to support the Center’s mission and help it grow.

Dr. Wright has continued the CEHC’s momentum by expanding its scope and working with Mount Sinai to develop a plan for the future as well as hiring top researchers from all over the world.  The increase in research dollars from NIH and other sources are a testament to the work of the CEHC staff, the vision of Drs. Landrigan and Wright and the addition of newly hired faculty.

We plan to be more consistent with our communication to our supporters by providing regular updates regarding ongoing research developments, advocacy efforts, educational events and any other relevant information. It is a high priority for us to stay in closer touch with the CEHC community in order to share information as well as to be open to input you may have.

I look forward to working with Dr. Wright, the CEHC staff, and our Board members to continue to support and augment the mission of the Center to better understand the impact of toxins in our environment, educate the public about how they can live healthier lives, and ultimately reduce the exposure to those toxins for children and for ALL of us.

I thank you for your support and hope that you will stay connected to the CEHC through attending our events, reading our newsletters, and checking our website for updated educational information.
